Trail Rides

Whether you want to meander through the Red Ledges of Heber Valley surrounded by magnificent rock outcroppings or take an adventuresome ride into the nearby mountains where incredible views abound, we can create a memorable riding experience for you. Choose from a multitude of year-round locations including, but not limited to, Antelope Island, Jordanelle State Park, Strawberry Reservoir or even the Uinta National Forest. Each has thousands of acres of trails teeming with wildlife and fantastic views around every corner. Stands of Aspen, meadows of green grass, purple Delphinium and Lupine all framed by a big, blue sky. See it all on horseback. We love to cater to the discerning rider and will gladly tailor a ride to suit your level of experience. This is no “nose to tail” experience. You’ll love the freedom of our rides.

All of our trail rides are private and begin with a full riding lesson where riders will learn forward, backward, left, right, halt and an emergency one-rein stop.

Horsemanship - 101

It’s one thing to show up for a riding lesson where your horse is ready for you, it’s quite another when you learn how to catch, lead, tie, groom, saddle, bridle, work your horse from the ground and learn how to ride. That’s what you’ll experience in the twelve hours of Horsemanship-101. By the time you complete the course, you’ll have enough information and experience to lease and ride a horse unguided.

Each of the 6-sessions has three segments.

  • Discussion of a short, entertaining, and informative reading assignment.
  • Ground work with a horse including catching it from the corral, grooming, saddling, bridling, and working with a horse on the ground using their language.
  • Riding mechanics in the saddle, on a horse; along with arena and trail work.
